This bundle contains THIRTEEN individual “print and go/no prep” Ancient History printables that can be easily used by any substitute or regular class teacher in a Grade 5-8 Social Studies class. The THIRTEEN resources in this set involve reading a lengthier Ancient History-based article and answering language and social studies-related questions afterward. The articles explore people, societies, or time periods worldwide, including settings of Europe, Asia, North Africa, South America, and North America. Some focus on individuals in the distant past (Confucius, Otzi, Hannibal), others on the work of civilizations (Great Pyramid, Hammurabi’s Code, Mesopotamia, Caves of Altamira, Stonehenge, The Etruscans), and others on specific pre-historical periods (La Brea Tar Pits, The Bronze Age, The Hobbit Man, Neanderthals).

These thirteen printables were created to take about 45-50 minutes each depending on teacher interest in being involved in the reading. They require close and attentive reading from the students. If you want to use these with sub plans and make your return from illness even smoother, I recommend you follow these up with a YouTube video on the topic when you return.
