This math lesson allows students to discover the relationship between the area of rectangles and parallelograms in a three part math lesson format. After students have discovered how to find the area of parallelograms, they are given an opportunity to practise this before a formative assessment question (from an old EQAO test) and a journal prompt that focuses on communication.
