Building up reading stamina at the beginning of the school year can be a challenge. This “Flying Into a New School Year” September Reading Challenge will motivate your students to read for 30 minutes.

Easy set-up:

Simply print a butterfly for each student. Create a “Flying Into a New School Year” bulletin board or hallway display. Each time your students read for a set amount of minutes, they will get to color part of their butterfly. The goals start low at five minutes and gradually work up to 30 minutes.
